2nd - 5th Grade
Wednesday & Friday 2:45 - 4:00 pm
Our younger players will have plenty of opportunity to develop their stage skills through games, auditions, and play rehearsals.
We will gather at the bus-stop in front of Craftsbury Academy, and have a snack and a bathroom break before starting our drama club meeting.
6th - 12th Grades
Wednesday & Friday 4:15 - 5:15 pm
Older students will shine on stage with opportunities to practice the drama skills they enjoy most. Auditions for the show will be held in the second week of Drama Club, and students awarded parts with lines will be asked to learn their lines over the winter break. Afternoon snack will be provided.
FAQs
What if my child also plays a winter or spring sport?
Putting on a play is a commitment, just like joining a sports team. Being at every rehearsal is important, and we ask families to try to prioritize Drama Club over other activities. However, we do know that we can’t always control schedules, and some conflicts might come up. If your student is participating in a winter or spring sport that meets at the same time as drama club, we will create a plan with you and your student for them to learn their lines or the words to songs on a different night of the week.
Do we have to come to both Wednesday and Friday Drama Club rehearsals?
Yes, in order to prepare for the big show, we will rehears two days per week. During the last two weeks before the show, rehearsals will increase to three days per week.
Is my child’s spot in the club guaranteed?
We will do our absolute best to give everyone a spot who wants one. But remember, we’re preparing for three performances at Highland Center for the Arts in May, and we need everyone’s cooperation and focus. If we encounter disruptive behavior that prevents the drama coaches from directing all the students well, we may need to ask those students to reconsider whether they want to be in the play or not.
What show will we be performing?
This will be announced as soon as the script is secured! Players will know before December 10.
