Enjoy a gallery talk about the importance and impact that creativity has in each of our lives and local communities. Explore the collection of GRACE heritage artist Dot Kibbee to see universal creative and storytelling themes used for individual expression. Her artwork reminds us of the helpful life lessons to develop observational skills, to stay present and appreciate the details around us, and to take part in or contribute to our local communities however we can.
Join us on Sunday January 15, 2023 at the Greensboro Free Library at 2pm for the gallery talk with a reception and gallery viewing to follow. Hosted by Christine Holder, Digital Curator for GRACE, and presented by GRACE, a branch of the Rural Arts Collaborative. Exhibit at the Greensboro Library shown through January 28, 2023.

The selection of Dot Kibbee’s work on display at the Greensboro Free Library exemplifies her colorfully expressive personal painting style which was fine-tuned over her years attending GRACE's creative community workshops in Hardwick, Vermont. Like many artists do, Dot Kibbee used painting as a form of storytelling to convey or express her own perspectives and life experiences. As a result, her paintings are sometimes observational, sometimes autobiographical and sometimes just for fun. Dot Kibbee's creativity encourages us to take pleasure in the simple moments in life and also reminds us to be present, connected and observant while we are living our daily lives.
