Workshops

Grassroots Arts and Community Effort was founded 45 years ago on the principle that everyone is an artist who wants to be. GRACE programs provide inspirational, open-ended, and judgment-free art-making experiences where community members of all abilities create using mediums and materials of their choosing.

Art Galleries & Collections

Over the years, the GRACE Community Workshops yielded an enormous body of artwork by the workshop participants. Many of those pieces have been left to us to exhibit, sell, and protect.

The GRACE Gallery features curated, rotating shows of the GRACE Collection. The GRACE Permanent Collection, works not for sale, are displayed upstairs and in traveling shows. Works for sale are displayed downstairs.

The Storytellers Gallery is a new addition to our exhibition space. This gallery shines a spotlight on contemporary BIPOC, LGBTQ, Veteran, disabled, and outsider artists.

Digital Archive

Funded by the Vermont Arts Council, we have launched an initiative to build our capacity to share our vast collections outside our gallery walls. The Digital Archive shows images and associated content of the 27 artists in our collection. Digital visitors can browse more than 600 pieces, explore curated rooms online, inquire and purchase pieces, and learn the stories and experiences of the untrained artists who created the GRACE collection.
