Messy Arts Camp

July 24 - 28
9AM - 3PM
Ages 5 to 12
Greensboro Summer Camp
This Camp has filled!

In this weeklong 2D & 3D arts camp, students will use nature as inspiration when exploring a variety of messy mediums. Create larger-than-life acrylic paintings of local flora, splash watercolors on paper to create cut-out paper animals, and scavenge along the riverbank for sticks and stones for a fairy house! Every afternoon students will have a chance to make with mud in a ceramics class with local potter and Calais native Heidi Bielenberg. Learn more about our instructors below.

Our Instructors:

Lisa Wolfgang (she/her) - Lead Teacher: is a queer, interdisciplinary artist who has been living in Vermont since 2016. She received her Bachelors of Fine Arts in Sculpture and Expanded Media from Alfred University and holds a Certificate in Small Business Management from Northern Vermont University. Lisa has witnessed the connective power of art experiences and believes that art can be a catalyst for building bridges toward a more sustainable and equitable future. While working in the nonprofit sector, she has been able to take an active role in her community - coordinating programs, curating exhibits, and facilitating events that continue the conversation of sustainability and equity. Lisa has also frequently found herself in the role of mentor or educator to young people, where she finds the most hope for the future.

Heidi Bielenberg (she/her)- Lead Teacher: is a potter who grew up in Calais, Vermont. Heidi was formerly the Clay Studio and Programs Coordinator at River Arts in Morrisville before starting her private pottery business. Her work is wheel-thrown with a combination of rustic brown stoneware clay bodies that are strong and durable, intended for everyday use. She is inspired by her life and upbringing in Vermont, hoping to bring a rustic and woodsy aesthetic to her pieces.

Celidah Galloway-Kane - Special Guest Teacher: is a born & raised Vermonter living and working in East Hardwick, Vermont. After studying Art History and Museum Studies at Smith College Ceilidh moved to Portland, Maine to begin a career in arts education and nonprofit work. In 2012, she returned to the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont. Ceilidh is an artist, educator, gardener, politician, advocate, and adventurer.

Anah Witt - Behavioral & Emotional Support Teacher: More About Anah Coming Soon!

Elena Reingard - Assistant Teacher: More About Elena Coming Soon!
