Thursday Inclusive Arts Workshop

Every Thursday
1PM - 3PM
For Everyone, Including Adults with Disabilities and their Caregivers
FREE

At Inclusive Arts Classes, participants learn new creative skills, make uplifting artwork, and connect with community. Instructors teach projects in a variety of mediums and subjects that can be adapted for any ability. Classes will incorporate thematic projects to align with upcoming GRACE Gallery exhibitions, and participants may submit their projects to be exhibited in the GRACE Gallery to be enjoyed at public, seasonal gallery openings.

Inclusive Art Classes are a teacher-supported environment where individuals from all walks of life can be creative together. We take the lead from participants to collaboratively design projects that can be accessed at any ability level. We are inspired by the energy generated by groups of individuals sharing in the creative process, and participant input is important to our program.

Our Facilitators are educators who believe that everyone has the ability to be creative. Our Inclusive Arts Classes engage everyone–including caregivers, clients, family, and friends–and everyone who enters the studio will make something. As artists, our teachers are not experts on all of the needs of our participants and work with caregivers to identify areas of interest and ability for each participant.

History: Grass Root Arts and Community Effort – GRACE has been dedicated to serving elders and disabled populations in Vermont since 1975. GRACE has helped cultivate many self-taught artists, encouraging them to produce and exhibit their artwork. Here, community members from all walks of life are supported and encouraged to make art to share.
